A brief interlude for excited yelling - Jake is Turkey of the Year!

WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!  Our Jakey was selected as Turkey of the Year!!!

We always knew that our Jake wss a wonderful turkey and a true ambassador but now others get to see that too.

We are so proud of our big boy!!!

Be sure to read the stories of the other turkey runner-ups and please consider taking turkeys and other animals off of your table.  This is the season for peace, love and compassion and having a cruelty-free dinner is the best way to live according to these values.

Jake - Turkey of the Year, 2011

Weekend Off

It's been kind of quiet around here mostly due to work and crummy weather. I really have to do a "reveal" picture of my secret shoes but rain has prevented me recreating my outfit.

But on the plus side it was only in the low 70s this weekend so I cooked up a storm. I made hummus from scratch, baked flatbread, made soup and cooked a few meals for us too.

From top:
- soaking chickpeas
- prepping tomatoes to roast with Rosemary Hot Crash potatoes
- Lunch!
- Tomatoes for soup
- Tomato basil soup

What delish thing did you eat this weekend?
