Fancying Flowers

It's barely winter here. We're finally getting some really cold weather in North Carolina, but I already have a fancy for these flowery heels from Nine West.

I love that the fabric is so lush and fanciful but that they are paired with a stronger shape and platform.  These would be fun with dark tights and a bright dress to make February less grey but then be even more perfect when it is finally Spring.

Signs of Spring

I promised better pictures of our lovely Spring blossoms and trees. The best part is we do very little to encourage this. It all just happens to pop-up as it gets warmer.

This is our neighbor's house. They actually do work on their yard and it shows. Darn them!

Trees in our backyard.

Wisteria blossoms up close.

More tulips.

And our Tulip!

Her prancing baby, Petal.

Happy Spring!

Spring Spring Spring

While Fall is my favorite, I think Spring is the prettiest season. Especially here in North Carolina.

I took a few quick phone pictures but will have more taken with the good camera to share later.

Our wisteria has gone crazy this year! And our yard smells like SweeTarts.

Our windows are open and our house is filled with pollen. Luckily we don't have any allergies!

Ensemble du Jour

Since I've been swamped lately and not feeling great on top of that, I haven't been online that much. So you get an outfit post to tide you over.

This is sort of a simple work outfit but I like the skirt and shoes.

The top is an Old Navy grey tee paired up, tonally, with a Mizrahi for Target skirt from a while back. I really liked when he did the big blooms on the skirts.

Hello flash!

This hair clip facinator was a little experiment from when I was feeling crafty the other day. I'll admit I was inspired by a piece from Pretty Good Things but her pieces are a gazillion times better than mine. I much prefer her hot pink version and must get it soon!

I really love the peachy-ness of these Guiseppe Zanottis. They're just so summery.

Nothing fancy, just another day at work.

But tassles!

Okay, back to work and trying to feel better!

It's beginning to look a lot like... Springtime

Miu Miu and Prada are already tempting me with their Resort heels and sandals. There are a number of gorgeous strappy and delicately shaded numbers there, but these are a few of my favorites. I think more than any other designer, I am most impressed with the shoes from these lines. They are helping to push the boundaries of silhouettes and embellishments unlike any other designer. Just as Louboutioun "found" a new way to draw the eye, so too is Miuccia Prada.

And the Resort shoes are just the tip of the iceberg for what is to come.

It's such a dilemma too. Do you grab some of these (alas, I was already too late on the Miu Miu Raso Slides) or do you hold out for even more amazing pieces?
