Sam & Libby for Target

I was excited, when I popped into Target over the weekend, to see the new Sam & Libby for Target shoe collection.  I have a number of  Sam & Libby shoes from ages ago and they are always cute.

This collection is reasonably priced and had a variety of styles from sandals to wedges to loafers.  I especially liked the ballet flats.

The loafers are great with jeans and the cap-toe ballet flats are pefect with shorts and dresses and skirts. I got the black/creme pair and the taupe/neon yellow pair.

Not all stores will have all the styles, so check online too. The Bree ballet flats, for example, also come in a creme/tan and a light turquoise (which I may have to order as well!)

I think the flats are the best designs in the collections and they look fancier than their price, so snap a few up!

Black and Tan

I have been smitten for months with these multi-strap mary janes from Chanel.  They combine the best of the classic black and tan combination with a really modern style.

Seeing them in person was even better.  Sadly, they looked great on.

Talk about temptation....

Cooling My Heels

I have to admit that I've been making goo-goo eyes at the mesh and dotty Kate Spade heels since July.

But I know that they I had other shoes in the same color and that I really should hold off.

As the months passed I would stop by the site every so often to look at them and would see that most of the sizes were still available.  After a while I began to hope that they might possibly go on sale and I could snatch them up.

So last Friday, I popped onto the site and saw they had gone down by 25%.  Very very tempting, but I held out.  And literally the next day, there went another 25%.  Sadly, I couldn't get onto the site until Sunday so I ended up with a slight larger size than I would have preferred, but I got them!

Love the navy Lisa pump.   The color is awesome, the dots are fuzzy and the bow is perfection.

And the candy pink Mildred kitten heel is the sweet sister, with its patent cap toe and flirty color.

When they arrived they were even more adorable in person. In fact, all the girls in the office were equally smitten.

Can you blame them?

Today's Shoe - Stuart Weitzman Capsize

As you know, I'm a sucker for a good mary jane heel. And when saw this black and white pair on Atlantic Pacific's blog, I went right out and nabbed a pair.

I just bought a B&W tweed pencil skirt from JCrew (well basically, this whole outfit!) and I knew they would be perfect with them.

The best part is that they are now on major sale, down to $140 from $365.  So nab them while you can, especially since Endless.com is being folded into Amazon. Not sure how long the sale price will last.

Darn You, JCrew

JCrew is trying to ruin me.  I cannot resist all the polka dot/plaid/stripe/tweed/snakeskin print goodness.

I actually am tempted by these adorable sweaters and I generally don't like crew neck tops!  We'll see what actually works and stays around for Fall/Winter.

Oh, yeah, I got a pair of cap-toe heels too.  It's sickening how cute all this stuff is!

Perfect Polka-Dots

Not that polka-dots are ever really out of style, but if these Loeffler Randall Natalie cap-toe polka-dot flats aren't perfect for traipsing into Fall, I don't know what shoes are.

They're a beautiful blush and black and the cap-toe makes them extra special.

They're available straight from Loeffler Randall - $295

Imitation = Flattery? Miu Miu vs TopShop

Whether you love it or hate it, you have to admit, the "inspiration" between these two pairs of shoes is blatant.

First we had Miu Miu's Fall/Winter '11Glitter Cap-toe pumps.  This was the season of glitter and Miu Miu was leading the pack.

TopShop has come right in and taken the design and made it a bit more chunky as well as subbed in more glitter.

I love the design but dislike the knock-off.  What are your thoughts???

Ensemble du Jour: 3-4-11

Pros: More outfit posts. Cons: iPhone photo at night in full length mirror. Let's just call this "arty", shall we?

You can sort of see the important stuff - vintage faux leopard jacket from Shrimpton Couture, Rosalind Keep Trompe L'Oeil trench dress, leggings from Sock Dreams and Gap cap-toe ballet flats. The plexi and pearls bracelet is from Etsy.

This is shown as a dress but even at 5'3" there is no way I'd wear this to work without leggings. Yikes!

All mobile pics, all the time around here. That's quality!

For all you Gossip Girl lovers...

I haven't been watching Gossip Girl but I keep hearing the raves about how good it is. I know I probably won't get sucked in, but maybe I should because the fashion does look pretty good.

WhoWhatWearDaily featured some of the styles from the show's characters and where to get them. All the looks are cute but I loved the Blair Waldorf look below - shiny black trench, red stockings and the cutest boots!

They are Sam Edelman boots and were on sale at SmartBargins.com. I like the mix of grey, white and teal toe cap - all popular style trends this year but so classic you could wear them forever. I had to run out and get these. 50% off! And they look more wearable than the Louboutin Emily booties.

When I couldn't find them at first, I, of course, went to Zappos. I found that Sam Edelman makes a few cute shoes and saw these boots in two other color combinations. I love the yellow quite a bit and were tempted by these.

But I like the tan, bordeau and white pair too. But they are full price on Zappos, so I decided to go with the teal version. Maybe I can get another pair later.

Look for some version of that outfit soon!

Classic Cap-toes

As Summer winds down, all of the pre-Fall and Fall styles begin trickling into the stores. A design that still looks fresh during summer but that can also work with the more traditional styles that show up during fall are cap-toe - in heels, flats, boots or booties. During the Spring we saw how Miu Miu interpreted the design in Satin and with unique color combinations (see earlier post). In the late Summer/Fall, the traditional combination of black and white is more common.

This year, Chanel celebrated 50 year of this timeless design, which has been an inspiration for all of the designers to follow.

Marc Jacobs keeps to the traditional white shoe/black cap in his Fall flats, but reverses the trend in this ankle strap pump. I think this gives a look that can go school-girly, mod or very traditional.

Alloy's NYC Mary Jane is a very affordable way to take advantage of this look. Because the design is so classic, even less expensive materials look sharp. And the wood platform and heel keep it summery.

This sharp-looking boot is actually from Payless. This mix of patent on the cap-toe and shaft keep this boot from being plain. Plus, the top piece zips off for another look.

Even though I don't typically like booties, they are going to be big this Fall. These are my favorites and are by Christian Louboutin. This version is grey, white and black but they also come in solid black or white and black.

Because this is such an iconic look there are tons of interpretations out there and the design will come back year after year, so find a favorite.
