Not only is this a knock-off, but I didn't like the mold inspiration in 2007 from YSL...

And I certainly don't like it now from Stuart Weitzman.

 

Stop trying to make "mold shoes" happen. They aren't going to happen!

 

Falling For Tall Boots

Fall is the time for tall boots.  And I am smitten with the following two styles - both classics to last for ages.

The first is the re-release of the Stuart Weitzman 5050 over-the-knee boot.  It comes in a ton of colors but I think the basic black is by far the sexiest.  And not just because of Miss Kate here.

They are made to go with skinny jeans in the Fall and short skirts for Summer.

The Frye Melissa lace-up riding boot is another classic style. Just like the tall boots I wore for dressage, this boot style will be around forever.

These would also go great with tucked in jeans but they are such an American style staple, you could wear them with long skirts and floaty dresses.  

Stride through the seasons in these grounded styles.

Today's Shoe - Stuart Weitzman Capsize

As you know, I'm a sucker for a good mary jane heel. And when saw this black and white pair on Atlantic Pacific's blog, I went right out and nabbed a pair.

I just bought a B&W tweed pencil skirt from JCrew (well basically, this whole outfit!) and I knew they would be perfect with them.

The best part is that they are now on major sale, down to $140 from $365.  So nab them while you can, especially since Endless.com is being folded into Amazon. Not sure how long the sale price will last.

Can I See the Sunshine

I'm a big fan of color but there are two colors that I tend to shy away from.  The first is orange, which I love for accessories but the other is yellow. 

But I'm trying to encourage a love of yellow.  I used to have a yellow bedroom growing up so I'm still a bit traumatized.  I got my Lemonade Converse, on pale end of the yellow spectrum. And today, I'm embracing the sunny side.

I'm smitten with these Manolo Blahnik Uliepe golden pumps ($575 at Barneys).  Such a pretty color and classic shape.  I want to wear them as an unexpected element paired with colors or patterns you wouldn't expect.

But... they are pricey and selling out fast, so I'm searching out other options too.  I started with the sunny pumps but there's lots in the color to choose from.

If I have to tolerate the summer trying to avoid the sun, I can at least wear some sun on my feet.  Any sunny favorites of yours?

Color Study - Purples

I'm really spacing out these Color Study posts, aren't I!

I'm being totally lazy by doing some of the easier ones first. Black, red and brown will be excessive. But let's pretend we're going sort of in a spectrum of color.

Today is all about PURPLE! Admittedly there are not that many and I realized there is an overlap with one shoe. Not very organized of me.

Forbidden Fruit

I am seriously in love with these shiny red and gold Dior Serpent heels.

And I really need them too, right?



OMG! Heel detail!







I know that red pumps with gold heels aren't new. And actually I have a pair...

But the Dior ones are totally different and therefore justifiable, right?

Because:

1. They are round-toed while the Stuart Weitzman's are pointy

2. They are Diors

3. They have a lot more detail

4. The heel is different

5. They aren't in my closet

6. I love red shoes

7. They are new

8. They are available in my size

9. Their name is Serpent

10. They are fancy shmancy Diors

What do you think? Justifiable????

Red Hot Shoes for Sale

So I bought these red hot Stuart Weitzman Fever pumps in Red Quasar...



... and they are very sex-ay. Look at that gold heel.



But you know, they just didn't do it for me. So I'm considering selling them.



These heels have been worn once on carpeted surfaces and that is it. They were just a little narrow for me. I think they would look especially good under pants. But I don't wear pants a lot so I'd rather send them off to a good home.

Delicate Shades for a new Season

One of the trends that is going strong for clothes and shoes well into early Winter and Spring is also one of my favorites- ombré. I don't know what it is but I love the delicate merging of two colors on bags and shoes, so here is a list of my favorite new pairs:

Marc Jacob Suede Mary Jane Pumps - Saks - $595



They may be a little "jazz shoe" but I love the way the silver looks as if some gorgeous powder got dusted all over the front and heels as if you were kicking up stardust.



More pretty Pradas - Patent Degrade Peep-Toe Pumps in white and quartz (taupe) - Bergdorfs - $495



And the Vernice Degrade Pump, also from Prada - Saks - $540



Above is the Bianco/Quarzo and below is Bianco/Ananas - I love the delicate taupe but think the yellow is much more striking.



I know these Prada Vernice Sfumata Mary Janes are kind of a Fall holdover but with the taupe front they would be light enough for the warmer months, especially if you need a good work shoe. Bergdorfs, $550.



These Stella McCartney Vinyl d'Orsays have a shaded heel and are very pretty with their bluish smoke grey vinyls front straps. Although I do think the price is kind of high. Neiman Marcus, $785.



Looking at the front this patent heel by Ferragamo does not seem Spring at all, but the heel totally compensates for that.



The heel treatment is just gorgeous and so unusual - almost painted looking. You can find them at Saks for $570.



Last but not least (okay, I guess it is least - the least expensive of the bunch) are my favorites - Stuart Weitzman's Sashay Peep-Toe Pumps. These are also available in black patent and fire (red) patent but I like the black/white version best. Not that this is cheap, but they are only $270 at Saks.



So pretty and a great heel shape, which I am also a sucker for.



I can't wait to mix some of these into my wardrobe. I'm not sure if it would be overkill, but I'd like to pair a blue/white gradiented dress with the Weitzman's.
