This week has been fill of Middle Ages and Military inspriation.

Yesterday I finally got to wear my Roberto Cavalli velvet and gold tapestry print skirt. I'll probably end up wearing this with a blazer but I paired it with a simple dark green Gap v-neck as I was going for a tonal look overall. For shoe I wore another YOOX purchase - my gold and green velvet Claudio Merazzi heels. Because all of the colors and materials were so unusual, it didn't come off as too matchy-matchy.



It's such a funky skirt. I love the muted gold and dark dark green.



Today I'm a bit brighter!

I was very excited to get new jeans over the weekend. My Gap Long & Leans were looking a bit, how do we say.... craptastic. They were all baggy... and not in a good way. I decided I needed a more straight leg style so while I was returning some shoes to Nine West I popped into Gap and tried on a pair of the Classics. Not only am I loving the darker wash but I was in a smaller size than the Long & Leans.

Go Team Vegetarian!

So, I wanted to wear my jeans and one of my new Lou Lou Loves You bows. I also wanted to wear a heal but something still good for Summer since I know I've got a long winter of jeans and boots and closed toe shoes ahead of me. I ended up pairing my Luella for Target jacket with the bow, one of my new vintage pieces (the necklace was deconstructed to be worn as a pin today), the bow and my 20Ltd. Louboutins.

I love this combination of blues and orangey-red. I think it works so well together.



If you are considering a bow from Miss Lou Lou, I just want to let you know - you will get lots of comments. The bows are so big and satin-y and luscious, everyone just loves them!

Leather, Brocade and Temptation

As I get closer to my trip to New York, where I haven't been in ages (shame on me, I know), I realize that I don't have a lot of New York-worthy clothes. I mean, most of my stuff is fun and comfy and good for work but otherwise just eh.

So when Style Spy unfortunately brought the huge YOOX sale to my attention my ears perked up.

Now normally YOOX is crammed with stuff. So much so that it tends to overwhelm me a bit. But I was up not sleeping so I thought I would take a small peak. Nothing serious mind you.

Stupid, stupid me.

I think my wardrobe fears have gotten the best of me because I some how convinced myself I needed all of these things! They're gorgeous and I hope they fit but damn.

First up is this Claudia B. blazer with the cool closure and slightly peplum back. It looks like it could be worn alone as shown for a sexy night out look. We'll have to see if that's a viable option in reality. I'm more worried about showing too much tummy than cleavage.





I always like a good skirt and this Roberto Cavalli is made of an amazing moss green velvet with gold. It may be too much but it could look totally stunning with my velvet Claudio Merazzi heels.





As I was browsing in the skirts section I got totally sucker-punched by this gorgeous silk brocade skirt from Alexander McQueen. I will have to do some serious thinking about what shoes to pair with this... and what top.





What I had actually been looking for were dresses. As I've mentioned, I'm not a huge dress fan and am trying to work more into my wardrobe. I know what silhouettes work well on me and I'm hoping when I try this on it will be what I imagine. The length seems right and I like the v-neck. I may alter the sleeves to be 3/4. But what really drew me to it was the leather detail on the bodice area. It gives it a bit of unexpected toughness that I think is sexy.





Now we just have to try and patiently wait to see if they get here in time and if everything fits! And since it's the big sale, and I've been burned this way by YOOX before, we have to see if we actually get all of them too.

Blech!

I didn't do much posting last night (obviously). I came home from work a little early and we were going to put up all of our Christmas stuff but when I sat down for a few minutes, I started to feel horribly ill.

Given that I have a 9 a.m. meeting that I had to do some work on, posting got prioritized down in favor of an Excel spreadsheet. Then I passed out around 9:30.

Pathetic.

I think those Roberto Cavalli's made me sick.

I knew they were evil.

Eeeewwww!!!

I just wanted to see if you were awake this Monday morning. Like a shot of espresso, these monstrosities will totally jolt you into heart-pounding awakeness (awakeness???).



I can't even think what to compare these too. They're sort of like a bad combo of the 70's and the Frankenstein monster being attacked by the Wolfman.

I mean, seriously, WTF?

Roberto Cavalli, I can find no redeeming qualities in this shoe. And especially not the price - $495 down from a shocking $956! Worse yet, these are only available in my size.
