Stealing my Heart with Cora from Louboutin

I really wanted to love the Louboutin "Cora" sandals. They're so pretty as shoe.

And on, they are still pretty…

But in the end and while I love them, I sent them back. I think they are almost too sweet for me. And I'm still waiting on another pair of special Spring 2015 shoes…

Giving my heart away

I have a soft spot for heels with hearts…

How could I not fall in love with these cheeky, whimsical "Cora" sandals from Louboutin for Spring 2015???

I hope the heels isn't too high.  I couldn't bear the heartbreak!

Pants and Pumps

For someone who claims to prefer skirts, I'm wearing a lot of pants lately.  My new uniform is fun pants and awesome shoes.

Red Old Navy pants and spiked Louboutin Pigalles…

Black diamond Old Navy pants and mint Kate Spade Karolina Bow pumps..

Jcrew olive military-inspired tuxedo-stripe pants plus old Jimmy Choo Thunder slingbacks…

Old Navy red print pants plus Manolo Blahnik red sequin heels...

Plaid pants and red Valentino Rockstud kitten heels…

I think I can make it through winter like this.

Loving Lucifer

Everyone is loving the Lucifer Louboutins today.

They are well named, because, damn… they are high even for me.

I do have two peeves about them, as gorgeous as they are, though.

1. The spikes have dulled a bit after 2 years but I can't think of a way to polish them up.

and

2. The sizing, as with all Louboutins, are wildly inconsistent.  I mean I had to go a full size down with these - from a 35 to a 34.  That's just crazy!

But at the end of the day, you just can't fault them because they are so darn good.

Something good, something bad? Bit of both?

Obviously Obvious

Well, of course I'm going to get the Rouge Louboutin nail lacquer. Why would you even need to ask?

And if I can manage the 4 3/4" heel, I hope to pair it up with the Louboutin Argotik heel.

How sexy is the red cut into the vamp?  Swoon!

Also, want to see some sexy Louboutins worn in a sexy way… go see Lucy.  Scarlet looked awesome!

Really Really Ridiculously Good Looking

It's just not fair that a shoe should be this gorgeous, am I right?

I was hoping to hate the Louboutin Imperas but now that I have them on my feet, let's just say, it will be difficult to let them go…

Le Sigh - Christian Louboutin Impera in White

I have a new obsession. One that isn't healthy and one that I know may be too much for me.

But I love this Impera sandal from Christian Louboutin (for the Marchesa runway), although it may be more shoe than I… wait, what am I saying?  I totally need them.

I've heard rumors these may not be sold. It would be better for me but what a tragedy, if that's true.

Sweet Spikes

If I can only pick one shoe for Spring (laughable, I know), I think it will be these Louboutin Pigalle spiked heels.

I'm totally smitten with the multi-color candy like spikes.

Oh, Neiman Marcus, you are so evil!

Le Sigh - Christian Louboutin Unbout Illusion Pump in Neon Yellow

I hate when there is a "one that got away"...

I'm very sad I didn't get a pair of these Christian Louboutin Un Bout (or Unbout) Pump, especially in the neon yellow.

*sad face*

Buying Basic Black

This may sound hard to believe but... I do not really have a single "basic black" pair of heels.

Understandably, you don't believe me.  But it's true!  Oh sure, I have a ton of black heels in various iterations  - peep-toe, sandals, slingbacks, platforms, t-straps, mary janes, flower heels, with giant roses, patent, cloth, etc. - but not a simple black pump.  No chunky sole. No embellishment. No corset lacing.

What I wanted were plain (not patent), pointy toe, black pumps.  Thin heel. Sexy. Simple.

But, as simple as you would think this would be, I was struggling.  The heels needed to be high but walkable, which in my size meant less than 4".  I wanted shoes I could walk around the city if I wanted to but still had some height.  I wanted a silhouette that was both sexy and professional.  A delicate heel profile that spoke to me like the inspiration images above.

But 400+ pages on ShopStyle and I was not thrilling to many.

My ideal was the Christian Louboutin Helmut.  I think these are one of the sexiest shoes around.  But I have a pair in blue and they run big and are not easily available so they were out.  The Zara knock-offs were not available either.

I narrowed it down, after looking high and low, to two options.

The Louboutin Pigalle was option 1. But I know how this heel is cut and on me it tends to cut low at an uncomfortable spot on the sides of my feet, plus it's just an inch or so too high.  I'd never be able to wear these around. Although they are a darn pretty shoe.

The second option, and the one I ended up with, was the Blahnik BB heel.  The height is a bit shorter than my chartreuse pair.   And they are pretty close to perfect.  The topline isn't too low.  The vamp is the perfect height.  The heel isn't too high and is just thin enough.  Great profile and great from the front and back.

Considering I recently got black wedges with ankle straps, black and nude crystal sandal-y heels, black and nude Rockstud kitten heels, and black patent beribboned mary janes... these had better be perfection or I'm in big trouble!

Do you have a "perfect" black heel?

Le Sigh - Louboutin Picks & Co Potpourri Spiked Toe & Lace Pump

We all know that Christian Louboutin makes the best spikes. But they've been much more sexy than sweet.

But can spikes be sweet and classy.  Louboutin says yes they can with their Picks & Co. Potpourri Spike and Lace pumps ($1495).  I adore them.

Champagne lace, crystals and subtle studs. You have to love a shoe that combines "lady-who-lunches" with "a-lady-who'll-eat-you-for-lunch"

Swoon!

Faerie Feet

Hello Strangers!

Sorry I've been away so long. I've been (and still am) traveling around for work which requires me to sit in dark rooms for 9 hours a day. I'm in these great cities but I see them from the window or walking back to my hotel late at night ready to collapse into bed.

So instead of spending time in the spring weather in San Francisco and Seattle, I'm just longingly staring at the sun from the cracks of the backroom blinds. I would love to be out in a dress and these beautiful Louboutin Everesta Toile wedges.  The black and white print is whimsical and delicate.  A great pairing with the sturdier wedge.

My favorite part of the print... this little faerie!  How wonderfully whimsical for spring and summer!

The Christian Louboutin Everesta Toile wedge espadrille - $625.

What Would You Pair?

I need some help!!!

Last year for my company Christmas party, I asked for your thoughts on two outfit options.   I ended up going with the poofy party dress and Manolos and had a splendid time.  Since you gave such good advice that time, what do you think I should do this year???
I am wearing a sequin sheath dress from JCrew topped with a tuxedo jacket.

The sequins are patterned in green, cold and silver and there is a raw edged liner as you can see here.

I'm totally considering pairing this with my vintage top hat and the Kate Spade Night Owl bag.

So here are four narrowed down shoe options I'm considering:

1. Alexander Wang Anais silver tassle pumps

2. Christian Louboutin Yo Yo Zeppa suede peep-toes

3. Manolo Blahnik Urbana Nappa Oro gold sandals

4. Christian Louboutin Lucifer

So what do you think???

I'm leaning towards the Louboutin peep-toes but am totally open to suggestions.  Some back-up options are:

Camilla Skovgaard Chastity Sandals...

Camilla Skovgaard London Pumps...

... or the Prada Endless Spat boots....

What say you????
