Ensemble du Jour

The Outfit

I was so excited. I had the day off and I was finally going to get some errands done, including getting my car's oil change. I was going to go to the dealer to drop off the car then walk across the street and have a breakfast at Panera while I waited.

I was thinking I wanted to be all comfy and snuggly and warm. But since I wasn't going to work, I could wear my really bright yellow tights and no one would bug me. My top is this dark green shawl collar sweater jacket from Athropologie. I love the giant golden yellow velvet pin that came with the sweater. My denim skirt to ground it and a pashmina in the same dark olive green for additional warmth.

The Focal Point

Well, yeah... it's the tights. I mean these are BRIGHT! But I love them. And I did get a nice compliment from a lovely older lady at the restaurant. I wore my black flats from Target to further ground the crazy color.

Sadly for me I ended up being at the frigging Panera through lunch because the dealer said I needed my back brakes done too.

Great.

I thought I was doing a quick inexpensive oil change and it ends up being this huge cost. Now I'm broke!

Wonderful.

So that was my Halloween "trick", I guess.

Happy frickin' Halloween.

(Just kidding, folks!)

Ensemble du Jour

It's cold and grey and so I'm rebelling by wearing lots and lots of color. I look like I've gone mad and am trying to turn into a SweeTart.

The Outfit
Black cropped pants to ground all the colors and show the cute sockies. Pink argyle sweater, pink patterned tabi socks. Lavender pashmina to keep me warm and black patent open-toe heels from Target. Plus I changed purses from my big brown purse to my orange Hermes.

I love orange for accessories just not for clothes (for me) as much. I want to get an orange Hermes scarf but I haven't found a pattern I'm dying for yet, so I'm using my vintage scarf.

Oh! These are the crazy sunglasses from my other post. I finally took a picture. They're so huge it's funny.

When we were in Orlando I went crazy in the Epcot Japan store and bought all kinds of cute Japanese things including four pairs of socks. They are just so darn cute! I was dying to wear them, so I wore the longer pair today. They are two shades of pink with fat white bunnies. How cute is that?

The Focal Point
I know I'm not twelve or anything, but dang! I love these bunnies. So, my focal point today are my bunny socks (and being pink!)

Wouldn't you want little bunnies scampering across your feet? I know you do!

Ensemble du Jour

The Outfit
I'm always inspired by Miss Gala's use of color, especially a favorite blue that she tends to wear quite a bit. So when I saw these amazing stripe tights from Joy of Socks I knew I had to get them.

This bright turquoise is a great color that just pops with any color it's paired with. To really make it stand out I wore a black v-neck Mossimo sweater and a Mizrahi flippy black skirt. To pull out the blue (and to help ward off the chill) I grabbed my faux-pashmina ($10 from the airport gift shop) and pinned on a free flower I got when I made an Etsy purchase.

Plus the Target patent mary janes.

My flower looks ginormous!

The Focal Point
Today's outfit is brought to you by the color blue....

Stripe-y!

My legs all stripe-y and blue....

A pretty blue to match the sunny blue skies outside.
