The Perfect Pair for a Party - Jeffrey Campbell Noel Tinsel Heel

Do you ever see something totally outrageous and think "Dammit, that has 'Me' written all over it!" and know that it had to be yours?

 No?   Just me?

Well, the other day on Instagram I saw that Refinery 29 had reposted this image from Rockie Nolan of amazing, out-of-this-world, who-would-buy-these, silver tinsel slingback heels and was immediately smitten.

I mean, how could you not be???

I had to have them!  Luckily Rockie posted who made them and the style name - Jeffrey Campbell Noel Tinsel heels.

How fun are they?!?

They're actually even better in person.  I do love a subtle, conservative heel...

I joke, but don't put this past me to just wear to work or out for dinner or something.  I mean, why not?

You have to have fun with your fashion and if these aren't fun, I don't know what is.

Time to Shine

I'm not big on the "office holiday party" picture but we did at least have a venue to dress up a bit.

My husband wore a navy velvet JCrew blazer and pants in a dark grey with a plaid bow tie. I wore Zara's Jeweled Print Tulip Dress paired with Miu Miu silver glitter pumps and a silver belt.

Details!

Isn't this print great?

I adore Miu Miu glitter...

This dress has such a great shape, I really need to find more in this style.  Two more parties to go.  I may have to wear this again for at least one of them!

Silver Slippers

After getting black oxfords and gold loafers, I decided I had to have a pair of silver oxfords too. And this picture from Loeffler Randall convinced me it was their Joannas that I needed to have.

Shiny.  Sleek. Casually grounded.  Love them!

I actually waited so long to get these that they sold out on the LF site and I had to go to Farfetch.com.  I hope the are as stunning in person as they seem here.

Greatest Glitter - Miu Miu

I have decided that no other designer is doing as good a job with glitter as Miu Miu. Sure, I love the Loubies, but Miu Miu is staking a claim to the glitter throne.

Sure, their Noir sunglasses were awesome, but where they really shine are their shoes!  I love the fact that they don't limit glitter to just heels but they make sure, no matter what type of shoes you wear, you can have some sparkly glitter love.  If you want silvery glitter, you have a slew to choose from.

I personally was seduced into getting the classic pumps...

What a great heel profile!

But if you want more casual (yet still show-stopping), get the hightop sneakers.

A little bit lighter on the glitter but still snazzy when combined with black peep-toes.

Or all out, in your face, platforms.

I even like the subtle mix of the booties. The glittery heel is an unexpected surprise.

All of these gorgeous shoes are available now on MyTheresa.com.  I have to say they have a great selection and their packaging is luxurious and delightful.  If you are trying to track down a special shoe or outfit, they are a great resource!

Designer Focus - Michelle Chang Jewelry

I was very excited to see one of my favorite Etsy shops featured on Fab.com the other day.

I've been a fan of Michelle Chang's jewelry for a while now and had been planning on making a purchase but this gave me added incentive.  There were a few pieces on Fab that I had not seen in her store so I made sure to add them to my cart right away.

What I love about her pieces are the delicate details combined with the soft finishes.  Each piece has a warmth and humor that is so engaging.

The piece that first got me interested in her work was this whimsical (you know I can't resist that!) snake ring.  As a fan of snakes (they're much maligned and misunderstood), I was instantly smitten with his playful expression.

This ring also has a lovely brass version holding an amethyst.

I actually purchased the silver snake ring directly from Michelle's Etsy store but I did nab two pieces via Fab. First was the fox necklace in sterling with diamond eyes.  She has this without stones, as a ring and earrings as well.

Two snakes are better than one, right?  I also nabbed the brass "holding is tail" (very ouroboros, no?) snake with ruby eyes.

Working with Michelle through Etsy has been a pleasure so far.  I love that she'll adjust sizes and stones to suit your preferences.  I've had nothing but great experiences with the artists on Etsy and I can't wait to wear my new pieces.

Ensemble Du Jour: 2-23-11

Even though the days are still cool, the bright skies feel like Spring.  It doesn't feel right to wear dark tones.  It's time for color!

I started with the shoes and worked from there.  I paired a tomato red Gap sweater, with a khaki pencil skirt and grey and white Nautica scarf.

I love this butterfly pin.  It was my grandmother's and is very intricate with movable wings.  I thought wearing it as a pin would be a nice tie back to my shoe details.

I just got these gorgeous crochet tights from Sock Dreams.  They're so beautiful.  I plan on wearing them with an airy white dress and oxfords this summer.

But, yep, it was all about the shoes!  I just received three (!!!) pairs of custom Hetty Rose shoes and these are the first to be unveiled.  I'm going to do some more romance shots but I couldn't wait to share!

I'm smitten by so many of her fabrics. It's hard to choose just one.  I love the butterflies, outlined in metallic ink with large embroidered butterflies in silver thread.

This design is the Amalie, which is my favorite shape.  A perfect round-toe pump paired with glorious fabrics.  How can you resist?

Silver and Gold

Don't need 'em, but I want them.  I love gloves, especially driving gloves.  And driving gloves in sliver and gold with a heart cut out?  Yes, please.

Moschino, stop temping me!

Feature Shoe - Miu Miu Spring 2007 RTW Double-strap Mary Jane

Does everyone remember the Miu Miu Spring 2007 Ready-to-Wear collection.  Probably what is most memorable for me were the Lindsay Lohan ads and the great shoes, including the satin contrast-toe platforms and the double-strap mary janes.

I think this was the beginning of my love for Miu Miu.  Since then they have had amazing shoes every season.  I typically try to get at least one pair.

I waited for a while to get any of these even though I was totally smitten with the double strap mary janes.  I especially loved the silver and the baby blue.  When I finally got around to calling the Miu Miu store in New York it was near the end of the season.  I asked if they had anything left in my size and they said they had limited sizes left.  When they said they had a 6 in silver... and marked down... I pounced!!!

I've searched all over the internet and never see any non-runway shots of these shoes so here we go!  They need to be curated.

I'd also still love to get my hands on a pair of the sky blue version.  I've been looking for ages.  So if you see any, let me know!
