Designer Focus - Michelle Chang Jewelry

I was very excited to see one of my favorite Etsy shops featured on Fab.com the other day.

I've been a fan of Michelle Chang's jewelry for a while now and had been planning on making a purchase but this gave me added incentive.  There were a few pieces on Fab that I had not seen in her store so I made sure to add them to my cart right away.

What I love about her pieces are the delicate details combined with the soft finishes.  Each piece has a warmth and humor that is so engaging.

The piece that first got me interested in her work was this whimsical (you know I can't resist that!) snake ring.  As a fan of snakes (they're much maligned and misunderstood), I was instantly smitten with his playful expression.

This ring also has a lovely brass version holding an amethyst.

I actually purchased the silver snake ring directly from Michelle's Etsy store but I did nab two pieces via Fab. First was the fox necklace in sterling with diamond eyes.  She has this without stones, as a ring and earrings as well.

Two snakes are better than one, right?  I also nabbed the brass "holding is tail" (very ouroboros, no?) snake with ruby eyes.

Working with Michelle through Etsy has been a pleasure so far.  I love that she'll adjust sizes and stones to suit your preferences.  I've had nothing but great experiences with the artists on Etsy and I can't wait to wear my new pieces.

Ensemble du Jour - 2-7-12

Yes, I wore this soft kitten-grey polka-dotted cardigan from Target.

And it went great with the red pencil skirt from Express

And with the grey Tibi Daisy flats...

China Glaze's Recycle warm grey polish looked great too...

But really... it was all just a backdrop for the ring.

Isn't this adorably stunning?

It's the "Winter in Paris" snow globe ring from DIVINEsweetness on Etsy.  And I knew I had to have it the moment I saw it.  Worth every penny and the wait to get it.

It stands out and draws eyes while being subtle and delicate.  I'm just in love but I'm going to savor the wearing of this.  It's too precious for every day....

Bows on the Brain

I love a good fascinator. And if they are bit silly or extravagant, I like them all the more.  So it's not surprising, is it, that I wold love to have one of these pieces from Tour De Force?

The Bronze Bowtie would be perfect with my new copper patent oxfords (still to take some snaps of those for you!) - £215.00

But the Ruby Rose is so lush too!  And I look good in red. - £159.00
Of course, Bardot bunny ears - a bow AND bunny ears!!! - may get me to hand over my card. I mean, how can you resist??? - £79.00

And I'm not done with bows bedecking me bodily (hee hee!).  I was on ideeli today and they have some fun and inexpensive BCBG jewelry.  I've been wanting some pretty sparkly rings and when I saw these bow rings - in bronzey gold, pink and aqua - for only $16, I jumped.

Run right over and grab some for yourself too.  A bit of sparkle and ridiculousness goes a long way to cheering up the mid-winter doldrums.

Help a Sister Out

We all love a good cause, but dammit, we love jewelry too!  How do you reconcile that.  Well I've got just the thing.  Fabulous jewelry designer and blogger, Wendy Brandes is helping (AGAIN) a fellow blogger friend in need.

Wendy is donating proceeds from sales of her Woolf necklace and Swear Rings towards Sister Wolf's new roof.  Collapsing roofs do not make for a good winter and Sister Wolf needs our help.

I have both the Woolf necklace and the first set of Swear Rings and I can honestly state they are fabulous.  I wear my Woolf necklace ALL THE TIME.  It's a bit of an obsession really.  And the Swear Rings...well, they're just perfect for work.  They've also garnered attention at several trade shows, including Blog World in Vegas.

So head over to Wendy's NOW and buy some rings or a necklace either for yourself or for a gift.  Then bask in the fact that you get amazing jewelry and help someone too!

Disney Dreams

Once I left working for Disney, I pretty much stopped buying any Disney paraphernalia.  I have enough princesses and pixie dust to tide me over for the next decade.  But I do admit to being more than a little tempted by the nOir Jewelry collaboration for the 50th Anniversary of Fantasia.

I especially love that they focused a number of pieces on the Rites of Spring scenes...

Scene 1: Genesis

I love the dinosaur bone cuffs.

Although I do have quite a fondness for the Nutcracker scenes. Dancing mushrooms. Fairies and snowflakes...

But really, who can resist the dancing hippos in Dance of the Hours?  I may have gone as a dancing hippo for Halloween one year.

And I've always thought the Pastoral scenes were the prettiest.

I do wish they had done something devilish for Night on Bald Mountain (I love saying the name Mussorgsky!)

Biotch, Please!

Ok, biotches, I have to pack to leave Ireland but here's a Irish/UK up-yours for you.

While I may be cranky for my 4am wake-up call tomorrow and having to pack up all my crap tonight, it's not because I don't love you, it's so you will go vote for our favorite WendyB who is up for another "Most Swearing Blog" award.

And just so the Americans don't feel left out, here you go!

You can also buy these fab rings for yourself on Wendy's site and in this same post.

Go, Buy, Vote gawd dammit!

Attitude and Ensemble du Jour

I had soooo much fun with my Wendy Brandes Swear words today.

And I told you I was going to wear them with the crazy high Aldo heels. Ridiculous!

Just wanted to share.

By the way, I need a new small camera. My digital is crap!

Pink Daggers

So yesterday I wore my new TokyoMade Chapter Pinky Sparkle ring (LOVE!) -

But if you are going to do girly pink... let's do some GIRLY PINK!

Paired up with my pink glitter Chinese Laundry Dagger slingbacks (and a pink Lou Lou Loves You bow) you couldn't miss me.

These shoes are fun, although they are a bit brighter pink than I had thought they would be. And the toe area is a bit pointier than I would prefer, but hey! Pink glitter!

The box is even cute too.

If I ever find other/better pink glittery shoes, I think I'd replace these but for now I likey.
