Loving Lucifer

Everyone is loving the Lucifer Louboutins today.

They are well named, because, damn… they are high even for me.

I do have two peeves about them, as gorgeous as they are, though.

1. The spikes have dulled a bit after 2 years but I can't think of a way to polish them up.

and

2. The sizing, as with all Louboutins, are wildly inconsistent.  I mean I had to go a full size down with these - from a 35 to a 34.  That's just crazy!

But at the end of the day, you just can't fault them because they are so darn good.

Something good, something bad? Bit of both?

Le Sigh - Louboutin Picks & Co Potpourri Spiked Toe & Lace Pump

We all know that Christian Louboutin makes the best spikes. But they've been much more sexy than sweet.

But can spikes be sweet and classy.  Louboutin says yes they can with their Picks & Co. Potpourri Spike and Lace pumps ($1495).  I adore them.

Champagne lace, crystals and subtle studs. You have to love a shoe that combines "lady-who-lunches" with "a-lady-who'll-eat-you-for-lunch"

Swoon!

I'm a Danger

These are my spiked Freddy oxfords.  I love them.  They made a splash last Fashion Week as I wore oxfords all over town, much more than heels.

What was funny was the husband said that I probably shouldn't wear them on the plane, just in case. I pooh-poohed that and wore them any ways. Yes, I did get a side-eye from the screener but come on, they aren't very sharp or anything.  So silly!

But I guess not. Nice Kicks just shared a story about how ti$a's Rollerboy spiked loafers were almost confiscated by TSA!

What the heck??? I could do more damange with the heel of some of my shoes than with these.

Come on people.  Between taking a friend's 2 year-old's apple juice to threatening fabulous footwear, it's getting a bit ridiculous, don't you think?

Still Stuck on Spikes

I can't stop thinking about spikes.  The more extreme the better.  And yes, I would totally wear these in my daily life.  I think people want a bit of fear with fashion.  I get more compliments and comments when I wear my spike-y Freddy Louboutin oxfords than any other shoe... imagine the reaction to these amazing pumps by Barbara Gongini, creator of the bARBARA í gONGINI line.

You have to love the Scandinavian designers.  They have amazing vision.

I probably wouldn't impale myself on these.. they spikes are rubber.  What's even more interesting is the note that goes with them: "as part of the barbara gongini aesthetic, the paint on these shoes will crack with wear".  I wonder if they become even more distressed and industrial and apocalyptic as time goes on.

Enseble du Jour - 6-25-10

After pink three days in a row, I turned to neutrals on Friday.

The top is a v-neck cardigan in taupe paired with a feather printed skirt from, you guessed it, Anthropologie again. I used to shop at Anthropologie a lot obviously. Yikes.

I do love the pattern of this skirt. It's all different tones and tpes of feathers and had overlapping seams with raw edges.

But who am I kidding... it was all about the shoes.

I put up a quick post on Friday about them but here are some prettier shots.

You can open these up to full size.

They really are spikey and wonderful.

You can see why I felt that they were much more fabulous than I was that day.
The cardigan top is from Target, the skirt from Anthropologie and the shoes are Christian Louboutin Freddy oxfords.
