The Best of Boot Season

Boots can be tricky but when good, are so so very good. I've been expanding my boot wardrobe over the years. And I'm well covered with flat boots - from the  Frye Melissas to the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 black boots, as well as the Betsey Johnson Fall 2011 Rally boots in black and tan.

And who could forget the Ann Demeulemester triple laced-boots.

But for heeled boots, I've been bereft, since my Nine West ones completely died.   I've been waiting to find boot perfection and this season, it's happened twice.

First with the Sergio Rossi Secret OTK boots in burgundy.   Amazing in person and on.   Love them....

And then,  while about to give up hope on the right talk black heeled boots, I saw the ribbon laced-up boots from the Chloe Fall 2015 RTW runway.

So yeah, black versions. Love them!

A great pair of boots is like getting super powers. They make you feel awesome!

No Longer a Secret - THE Boot for Fall - Sergio Rossi Secret

Every season I have a mental list of items that I've fallen in love with. Items that I "have to have or I'll just die". Items that just seem as if they were made for me and will just make the everything I own even more perfect.

I had a list going on Pinterest and an album of screencaps in my phone of things I was keeping an eye out for to get for Fall 2015. Things that were lovely and, hopefully, soon to be mine.

Yeah, everything flew out he window when I saw these boots.

Dammit Diane Kruger, Elle and Sergio Rossi!

Behold the Secret over-the-knee boot.

Burgundy is the  color of Fall, especially this year, and pairs perfectly with black, grey and charcoal. I'm going to be wearing these with this great JCrew wrap around skirt, black dresses and a smoke knit dress I have.  Everything will be more sleek and just a bit sexier.

Oh, I hope they fit perfectly.

Le Sigh - Slightly Obsessed

I just saw these on Tumblr and I'm a little obsessesd.

They are Sergio Rossi "Florentina" over-the-knee lace boots.

They're from 2008 and I kind of need them. Where I would wear them, I don't know. Around the house and every second of the day, maybe?

Help me!!!!

Eeeewwww!!!!

I don't think it's fair that I go on Net-a-Porter to look wistfully at lovely things and then get visually assaulted by hideousness (btw, I love that my spellchecker has that word in it).

If you like these, I'm sorry. I mean it. I'm really sorry for you. These are just ick. Or maybe I should be sorry for me because I am so mentally limited that I can't see how these are good. Either way.

I've seen these Sergio Rossi boots for a while now. They just will not get off the site. Okay, some of the sizes are sold out. And these things are $1500. I don't know, I'm not a fan.

I'm not a huge fan of cowboy boots of any kind and I really don't like these. Givenchy, who are you trying to appeal to with this mess?

Is is just me or does anyone else think Luke Skywalker? Anyone? Anyone? You have to look at the outfit image they paired these Brian Atwood boots with on N-a-P. Even with all the fabulous clothes they have these still look horrible. Total FAIL.

But hey! They come in blue too!

The good thing is that all of this is making me slightly queasy so I quickly fled the site and didn't want to buy anything.

Yeah, aversion therapy!

Inspired by Nature

In honor of the new addition to the family, Mr. Jake the Turkey, I thought we needed another Inspired by Nature segment. Isn't he just the most gorgeous thing ever? His plumage is unbelievable. Dusky blacks, soft browns, bright reds and blues and striking white accents. Gorgeous!

These whipstitched Jimmy Choo sandals are a total match for the colors and accents.

I love the chunky black straps of these Gucci Iman platform sandals with the banding and gold accents.

The black and white of these Sergio Rossi sandals remind me of the white feather stripes in Jake's tail and wings.

And these Sigerson Morrison huarache boots on bare legs would give the same graphic stripe-y effect as his plumage and be just as attention-grabbing and striking.

But my favorites are the Louboutin 123 double platform sandals. Not only are they just as graphic but you get that same pop of red! Perfect.

A Bloody Mess

Do you remember the hideous Raspail tote from YSL?

I've found a shoe that's its perfect match made... in hell! Mwah-ah-ah!

Why did this seem like a good idea, Sergio Rossi? Especially for $464.

Ensemble du Jour

The Outfit
Okay, it's still hot as all get-out here so I felt it was okay to stick to some summery colors. I paired a khaki linen skirt with my bright pink cable-knit light sweater. This is definitely a summer top. And today it needed to be since it was almost 90-degrees. Luckily I got a parking space in the shade so my car did get all heated up.

For my statement jewelry I wore my very chunky vintage bracelet. It's the perfect preppy green and pink tones. Love it.

The Focal Point
The focal point is the pink color that I tried to use through out. And it's actually one of my favorite tones of pink. I have it all over in my accessories. These Sergio Rossi heels incorporate it perfectly. The body of the shoe is a very neutral bone color. The design is very unique but classic with the perfectly toned stacked wood heel. Even the cap of the heel is great - it's sort of a spread out circle. The toe is pretty pointy but these are actually quite comfortable. I've worn them traveling and walking through airports with no issues.

And look at the cool straps. Aren't the little knots in the end so cute?

Great pics by Schmoopie from Hep Cat Media.
Thanks, Hon!
