Le Sigh - Miu Miu Fluorescent Spat Heels

Eminently impractical and I already have a representative pair from the season, but I am sighing over these Miu Miu fluorescent spat heel/boots.

Must talk self out because I've more than reached my limit of shoes for the month (heck, the rest of the year!)

Now, if someone wanted to get them for me, I wouldn't say "No".  I'll take the size 6, please.

Patchwork Desires

What would you do?  I have this pair of interesting (amazing?!?) Vivienne Westwood oxfords sitting by my desk right now.  But I'm trying to be frugal and am considering sending them back.  They fit perfectly but I can't say that I need them.

But they are so unique and so sold out that I know if I change my mind there would be no going back.

Plus, how cool are they? One shoe is a deep periwinkle patent with the coraly-red cap toe while the other is tan buff with a swooping cap in the coral.

I guess I should be good and send them back, but oh the temptation......

In the Mix

I am serious about studs and I'm so glad to see they aren't going away just yet. I think Mr. Louboutin is doing the best thing with studs of anyone around.  Each shoe I love better than the one before. 

So I'm seriously in love with these new Pik Pik peep-toe sling backs at Net-a-Porter ($995)

He's upped the ante with a mix of metals, pyramid studs and spikes. Of course they'd look great with jeans, elongate your legs for a dress but I'd like to pair them with a slouchy stripe top and wide-legged khaki slacks.

Tommy Ton shot this wonderful image while in Paris this season.  And sometimes this is all it takes for a shoe to go from simply beautiful to full on covetable.

I kind of need them.

Featured Shoe: Stella McCartney Nude Kitten Heel

I'm still on the search for a great nude heel. I'm thinking patent but non-patent is fine too. Here is the latest contender - Stella McCartney's kitten heels.

I think they'll be great for walking and have an asymmetrical cut to the toebox (very similar to my favorite Louboutin Helumt, very feminine).

I was thinking a pump rather than a sling-back but these are pretty good. One to add to the list!

I don't think it's fair that I go on Net-a-Porter to look wistfully at lovely things and then get visually assaulted by hideousness (btw, I love that my spellchecker has that word in it).

If you like these, I'm sorry. I mean it. I'm really sorry for you. These are just ick. Or maybe I should be sorry for me because I am so mentally limited that I can't see how these are good. Either way.

I've seen these Sergio Rossi boots for a while now. They just will not get off the site. Okay, some of the sizes are sold out. And these things are $1500. I don't know, I'm not a fan.



I'm not a huge fan of cowboy boots of any kind and I really don't like these. Givenchy, who are you trying to appeal to with this mess?




Is is just me or does anyone else think Luke Skywalker? Anyone? Anyone? You have to look at the outfit image they paired these Brian Atwood boots with on N-a-P. Even with all the fabulous clothes they have these still look horrible. Total FAIL.



But hey! They come in blue too!

The good thing is that all of this is making me slightly queasy so I quickly fled the site and didn't want to buy anything.

I was browsing through the Net-a-Porter site, you know, just to see what was around when I literally stop short and said, "What the holy hell are those?!?"

Seriously, what are those?



And seeing them on the model isn't doing much to sell them to me.



They are some weird amalgamation of Fit Flops with "couture" elements. Why are Fit Flops trying to be all glam or something. They're not pretty, we're fine with that. Why add all that other crap on them to dress them up. Egads!




Oh, yes, and they are available in black too.

Why are Fit Flops on Net-a-Porter in the first place and who the heck do they think they are trying to kid with an $165 price tag.

Gag!

The one that got away

If you don't believe that a pair of shoes can inspire endless longing, faithful love and ceaseless regret, you just have to look at this pair of heels to get an insight into my soul.




These Viktor & Rolf glitter heels were from Spring/Summer 2004. Like a blurred photo of an old love this image doesn't capture the true beauty of these heels but is just a whisper of how amazing they are.

They actually had these for sale at Net-a-Porter but they didn't offer them smaller than a 36, so I didn't risk it. Oh, how I regret that decision.

Candy apple red glitter, slight internal platform with a curvaceous heel, accented with ruched red leather tied in a knot - severe to temper the excessiveness.

They still haunt me. Sigh.

Wha' Happened?

Have you ever seen an item in a commercial or on the runway and were instantly smitten? You MUST have that item, you wait, pining away for months until it finally makes its way towards your grasp only to be sadly disappointed?

That's how I felt about these Anemone ribbon heels from Monsieur Louboutin.

Look at them taunting me with their skyscraper heel, delicate silhouette and the luxurious creamy and inky satin ribbons looped artistically on the heel like the delicate sea-creature they are named after (or is it the flower it's named after?) When I saw these on Style.com months ago as you see them here, I instantly loved them.

I was thinking aobut them just yesterday and had not seem them on any of the usual sites so I dropped a note to one of the CL boutiques to check on availability.



They were in stock in my size (amazing!) but sooo pricey, of course, so I was tormenting myself about them all last night. Should I, or shouldn't I. Electric bill or amazing shoes. Decisions, decisions....

Then purusing my usual online reading I saw them featured on Shoewawa. But they didn't look quite like the picture I had seen. Hmmmm.... So I clicked through to Net-a-Porter to get a better look.

They had more pictures and this is what I saw. Okay, here they look similar. The ribbon is slightly different but still within the realm.



Then I looked at the back view. WTF?!?!? The look like someone made a bad bow with a Bowdabra and glued them on the back of the shoes! Aaackk!



They're just hanging there limply like over-cooked spaghetti. I sent an email to the CL boutique asking for clarification. Did I almost sign a contract agreeing to BUY these? (I was only thinking about, seriously honey, we will still have electricity so you can play Halo this weekend on the X-box).



They even tried to hide them by stuffing them under the pant cuffs. Or they pinned the ribbons to the pants. Cause you know those ribbons are going to be dragging the ground all over town.



So now I'm sad, disillousioned and am still going to be subjected to Halo all weekend.
