Smitten - Prada Minimal Baroque Sunglasses

I am not a sunglasses person typically, but I have to admit I was totally smitten by the Prada Minimal Baroque sunglasses collection. They are all just so gorgeous and Alphonse Mucha-esque, that they're like art for your face.

So I was thrilled beyond words to get a pair in white.  They're even better in person.  Whimsical and classic all at the same time.

You're going to be seeing these a lot this summer.  What is a better "summer white" than white sunglasses?

I now have a pair of "sisters" sunglasses - Miu Miu in black and Prada in white.

Le Sigh - Miu Miu Fluorescent Spat Heels

Eminently impractical and I already have a representative pair from the season, but I am sighing over these Miu Miu fluorescent spat heel/boots.

Must talk self out because I've more than reached my limit of shoes for the month (heck, the rest of the year!)

Now, if someone wanted to get them for me, I wouldn't say "No".  I'll take the size 6, please.

Instant Access - 4/18 - 4/24

What a week!  Work is crazy so I feel like I'll I have time for is Instant Access Instagram pics!

I finally received my Knock-out nail polishes.  Aren't the bottles pretty?  I got Flatte Black, Powder, Flatte Top and Karen.

I also found the lace and houndstooth Salon Effects.  I'm not sure which I want to try first!

I had to give the matte polish a try.  It's thicker than regular polish so I need to get used to the application.  But I love it!

Can I just say that I love Libertine. Skulls and argyle go perfectly.

As do Manolos and hot pink toes. Aren't these Suleys amazing.

Tested out the new Esprit d'Oscar perfume.

More fuchsia! This time with neon orange, polka-dots and bows a la JCrew.

We had Friday off which I spent doing nothing but watching movies like Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Plus it was rainy, so that's my excuse.  On Saturday our neighbor, a local artist, hosted a art show.

Her chickens....

... which obviously inspire her art!

GPOY Saturday Night!

After rain Friday and Saturday, Sunday was gorgeous so I spent some of the morning outside with the flowers and the animals.

Jakey!

Meggie!

My goatsie girls.

Lemonade anyone?

We also got a new hammock.  So my plans for doing work flew right out the window. Jealous, anyone?

This was an even better way to end the week.

Hope your weekend was glorious!

No reason, I swear

What do you think of these Miu Mius?

Not that I'm asking for any particular reason... Just, asking, you know?

Whistle, whistle, whistle.....

Say it Three Times

If I say  "Prada" three times, will they magically come to me a la their Beetlejuice inspiration???

Speaking of Spring

Here's what's speaking to me for spring: casual stripes, fancy sparkly jewelry, satchels, cuffs and oxfords.

JCrew is killing it with all the stripes.  I got the sailor stripe top in black/linen and I've ordered the Maritime dress below.

Oh, and guess what showed up last week?  A Poochie Pink Cambridge Satchel!  It will be perfect to add a pop of color and to carry around my iPad.

Although I prefer Fall over Spring, I am excited for bright skies, flowers and color!

Spring in my Step

While I'm very excited and pining for the Prada and Miu Miu spring shoes, I'm a bit smitten by the playful polka-dots of their Resort sandals. The whole collection is great.  I'd love to have matching shorts and color coded neck puff as well.

Net-a-Porter has a nice selection from this collection as well - from scarves to skirts

Le Sigh - Stella McCartney Spring Anemone Dress

I don't often sigh over a dres, but I so wish I had this Stella McCartney dress in my closet.

It's unique with an Old Master feel to the print.  A simple shift but so stunning. I guess I'll just has to visit it in my dreams.

Tappety Tap Tap

As much as I love heels, I can be a smitten kitten for penny loafers, tassles, and saddle shoes.  And these Rachel Antonoff for Bass designs are perfection!

Red and white heart loafers!

Patent saddle shoes!

Hello kitty!  Yes, I do want you shiny white loafers with red tassled bows.

The heeled saddle shoes in pink and white and the florals are to die for.

Right now I seem to have about 7 pairs that I must get!  But you can see the full lookbook on the the Bass Loves Rachel Antonoff page.

It's going to be a saucy spring.  I can't wait.

Oh, and follw Bass Love RA on Twitter too.

Planning for Poverty: Prada and Miu Miu Spring 2011

I am no longer allowed to look at the Prad and Miu Miu runway collections.  I just seem to want almost every pair of shoes each season.  It really is a problem.  They are just too good.

I love Miuccia knows the way to my heart... it's through her shoes.   I love that each season is brand new but that you can also see the cues evolving from previous years and between the Prada and Miu Miu collections.

This season the Prada collection plays with the bold colors and patterns for Spring but evolves the classic 40s-50s shapes from Fall into the more streamlined and even quirky tropical looks from the mid-to-late 50s.

I will be getting one of those straw pairs (probably red) and the chartreuse and black stripe mary janes.  Ummm hmm..

But then at Miu Miu you see those same bright colors amped up to near florescence with black and metallic.  The wingtip elements and multi-strap mary janes are back and even more strappy!  There's even a bit of the tea cups/candlesticks in the Art Deco swirls and angles as well as some of the Prada "fairy" collection in the cutouts.

There are so many to love but I think the hot pink and black ones just above are my favorites.  But I might need the green/silver/black ones too.

These collections caused a bit of a stir and, I think, rightly so.  The clothes were vibrant and playfully patterned, which appealed to me.  I could see myself wearing a few of those outfits.  But the shoes, again the shoes are a home run.
