I have a new, probably unrequited, love - the Vivienne Westwood Skyscraper Seditionary boots.
I don't need them. I'm no steampunk princess. But look at all their buckle-ly stiletto-y glory.
Look at that heel... damn!
So yes, I'm in lurv. Ah, well. Maybe someday!

Patchwork Desires
What would you do? I have this pair of interesting (amazing?!?) Vivienne Westwood oxfords sitting by my desk right now. But I'm trying to be frugal and am considering sending them back. They fit perfectly but I can't say that I need them.
But they are so unique and so sold out that I know if I change my mind there would be no going back.
Plus, how cool are they? One shoe is a deep periwinkle patent with the coraly-red cap toe while the other is tan buff with a swooping cap in the coral.

I guess I should be good and send them back, but oh the temptation......

Don't Miss Melissa
After all of the controversy, it's good to know there is a reputable dealer for Melissa that you can go to and find authentic pieces. Epaulet not only is a premier source for Melissa's but they are exclusive U.S. retailer for the Spring 2010 line.
And the colors are gorgeous!

Buyer Beware: Vivienne Westwood Melissas
If you are considering buying a pair or Melissa's Lady Dragon Vivienne Westwood shoes, especially via eBay, you have to go over and read Michelle's post on Decline Designs.
She is currently in the middle of a mess with a pair of counterfeit Melissa's and gives a great breakdown and comparison of the real vs. the authentic.
I contributed some photos of my blue and red pair to show a side by side comparison.
Make sure you educate yourself on what you are buying on eBay before you jump in. Especially since eBay and PayPal are notorious (in my opinion) for making it difficult to dispute won auctions.
I put a bunch of detail shots of mine in my Flickr set, so you can get better views there.

Color Study - Hearts
The other day I was wearing the new Luella's and recieved the Minna Parikka's and realized... I have quite a few heart themed shoes!
I like the whimsy but is this getting ridiculous???
You'll see these in other groupings but I thought I take a break from the more literal Color Studies to pull all my "hearts" out of hiding.

From left to right:
- Viktor & Rolf for H&M
- ShoeMissy Dolly Dagger
- Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon for Melissa
- Minna Parikka Belle
- Hetty Rose Love
- Luella Margar

Bolt from the Blue
Sometimes you just don't know where it comes from.
Who has ever had a craving that just pops into your mind, and in spite of your rational self saying you know you can't have it at right now (like wanting a favorite food IMMEDIATELY), you still can't help yourself.
I think it's how obsessions are born.
While brushing my teeth this morning, it suddenly occurred to me that I HAD TO HAVE sky blue patent shoes.
Maybe because I have always loved the sky blue Miu Miu double strap mary janes. I have them in silver. I so should have bought them in blue too! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

What was I thinking not to get these???

So I put the call out and started a shoe search of my own.
These are the right color but they are pretty pointy. I think I want a more rounded toe. The price is right though.

These are interesting and I like the shape (no idea on price) but a bit too electric blue for what I want.

I kind of like these even though they are not sky blue or patent. Must not get distracted!

So no luck! What the heck? Is baby blue out this season? Bummer.
What I did find, to tide me over are these - the Melissa and Vivienne Westwood collaboration Lady Dragon heels.

Adorable, right???

They're kind of hard to find and only start at a size 6, so I hope they fit okay.
