Ensemble du Jour - Labor Day Dressing

Yesterday we had a lovely day off and spent it trying a new restaurant and leisurley browsing at the nice mall in Charlotte, South Park Mall.

I decided to wear a dress I had not had an opportunity to wear yet - my JCrew sequin stripe dress.  I love the heavier knit and the marine shades of the multi-sized sequins scattered in an ombre pattern.

I paired this with my cobalt Celine Luggage tote - always a handy size to carry.

For shoe, I'd thought about wearing my marine sequin Louboutins but decided to be more neutral and tie in with the color of the creme fabric.  I ended up wearing my lacy Enzo Angiolini Eamaxino peep-toes.

Found a few cute tops for Fall, which I'm eagerly anticipating!

Hurry up cool weather!

Celine Selections

Sooo.... I was daydreaming about the Celine Luggage Tote in highlighter neon pink but sadly, Celine didn't make enought to fulfill the waitlist.

No pretty pink for me.  : (

But... I do have 3 other options.  Orange...

Neon highlighter yellow (I'm told this image does not do it justice and that it is very neon yellow)...

Or rich tomato-y red....  (a bright red with orange undertones)...

Which would you choose???

I'm leaning towards the red as it's more "classic" but the neon yellow is very appealing as well.  Thoughts?

Instant Access - 8/29 - 9/11

I'm investing in my nails big time.  Or as big time as nail stuff can be.  Sure it adds up but the low buy-in of polish has me hooked.  Even the Konad stamping sets aren't that much.  I got a bunch of the special polishes and plates.  Now I just need to get some skill!

This is sort of a abstract "moon" manicure using OPI Bubblebath and silver glitter moons.

Revlon Red...

My "Tiffany Box" inspired manicure using white and Revlon's Blue Lagoon.

I really love matte polish.  This is Zoya's Matte Velvet Lacquer in Lolly

Do I say this for every pair???  My Celeine's are one of my favorites.  Silver croc print and a buckle.  How can you go wrong?

The Louboutin Freddys made an appearance too.

This book is amazing.  I can't believe I haven't read it sooner.

I love Chanel No 19 perfume.  The new Poudre version is lovely as well.

Colors!  I love a good Sharpie, but...

I use fountain pens more.  This is my Verona pen that I fill with pink ink.

My neighbors held a bomb-diggity dance party too, so we danced the night away under the full moon and the stars.

My dog was not so energetic.

On a very sad note, my wonderful Father-in-Law passed away on Friday.  We miss him terribly.  We've found all the great shots of him and I just love this one.  So snazzy.

It will be a busy week for us, so please forgive me if I'm not too communicative. I hope you have and had a wonderful week.

Ensemble du Jour

Yeah! More outfit posts!

This was the outfit I wore on Thursday. I went in to Anthropologie about a week ago and totally caved for these three pieces. I was in the mood to get something snuggly and fell in love with this sweater/jacket.

What I like most is the softness of the colors here but the structure of the lines in the sweater.

I'm waving to my pup in the window who was barking at me.

Isn't this a neat piece?

I wanted all soft colors but even with the muted tones this is sort of a statement piece.

Underneath the structure is a lot of softness... a blush pink chiffon/knit top with a lovely rosette.

Surprise!

I wore those with a simple black pencil skirt but I wanted to add some more shine to tie in with the necklace so I wore one of my absolute favorite shoes... these Celine croc buckle heels from 7-8 years ago.

These are one of the most comfortable pair of heels I own. And the insole is the palest pink as well. I bit of extra hidden matching!

.925

On Friday I wore a simple grey v-neck that had sparkly threads woven in with my Gap denim pencil skirt.

But, oh, the shoes....

Before I was even strongly "aware" of the Celine brand I somehow found these beauties and had had had to have them.

A gorgeous heel and a very comfortable height. And I love the pink lining.

I think the buckles are a bit Roger Vivier but they are such a great graphic counterpoint to the silver croc pattern.

These also came in black, which I seriously coveted too and had much debate about. In the end, I had to go for the silver croc, of course. Aerosoles ended up doing both a black patent and burgundy patent version - I got both of those too. They are some of my best work heels ever.

I love them so much I try not to wear them all the time so I don't wear them out!

A Shoe List - Silver

Time for another true confessions shoe list!

Silver is color that, especially nowadays, you can't have too many of. Off the top of my head, here are all of the silver shoes I have that I can think of off the top of my head:

  1. New distressed silver Guess heels

  2. Silver double-strap Miu Miu Mary Janes

  3. Celine silver crocodile patterned heels with silver buckles

  4. Manolo Blahnik Estrella silver brocade slingbacks with crystal stars

  5. Franco Sarto ankle strap heels with bronze accents

  6. Nine West distressed silver flats

That's not too long of a list. Maybe I need more, hmmmm....
