A little love from Bergdorfs and a lot for Rene Caovilla

I love that my friends at Bergdorf Goodman have such a flattering opinion of me… and my shoe collection!

But the fact that they think I'm in the same realm as Rene Caovilla is blush-worthy!

Be amazed at the beautiful images featured on the 5th/58th blog and be ready to swoon at the gorgeous shoes!

Buying BBs

Manolo Blahnik really knows the way to keep me buying their shoes. They tend to take my favorite style - lately the perfection that is the BB pump - and make it available in tons of different fabrics and colors.

And they are continuing with their "made-to-order" option, now via Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.

I first fell in love with the BB when I got a pair in neon lime green (similar to the current Cocorita option) but I've now expanded my collection to black, red, and the grey/burgundy Bipunta cap-toe version.

But I'm thinking ahead to spring and I really think I need the marine blue and nude options.  Of course the fuchsia and cobalt are beautiful too.

I love that you can chose your height preference too... although I think 105mm is the only option to truly showcase the slender, iconic BB heel.

Clearly Sophia Webster

Last June I wrote about a new designer that I was keeping my eye on - Sophia Webster.

Her first designs were bright and bold and I was expecting to see her gain more coverage.  I'm excited to say that she continues to delight with here designs out for Spring and Summer.  I'm especially smitten with her ruffle-bow and sequin-bedecked PVC "Lana" t-straps.

I saw these in a number of colors on her site, including red and blue iterations, but the bold black and white is more my style.

These are party and dancing shoes.  You want to kick up your heels and step out and get noticed!  I have another pair I'm dreaming about from Ms. Webster.  She's all the fun, flirty, girly that I love.

I think I have a new favorite designer!

Signs of Spring

February. The month I hate all my clothes.

I'm sick of everything in my closet. Ready to toss it all out. Wearing nothing but great.

How delightful and refreshing it was to see an email from Bergdorfs, filled with color and brimming with fun, brightly-printed shoes.

I'm so ready for pink pedicures and peep-toes!

Wish I was a boy

It's not often that I say this, but looking at these sweet Prada monkstrap oxfords in deep violet,  I wish I could wear them.  I love the straps, color and distressing.

There are 3 designs in this special collection from Prada for Bergdorf Goodman's 111th anniversary. I can't fit into them and they're not really my husband's style. So sad for me, because these are sharp!

Shoe Lovers Mantra

I love getting some Twitter love from my favorite shoe fanatics at Bergdorfs... home of the best shoes on the planet!

You have to check out their link - the latest blog post on 5th/58th.  They're sharing some of the most gorgeous shoes for Spring 2012.  I think my favorites are the "scribble" Kirkwoods and the Alaias.

Any "Le Sighs" for you???

Celine Selections

Sooo.... I was daydreaming about the Celine Luggage Tote in highlighter neon pink but sadly, Celine didn't make enought to fulfill the waitlist.

No pretty pink for me.  : (

But... I do have 3 other options.  Orange...

Neon highlighter yellow (I'm told this image does not do it justice and that it is very neon yellow)...

Or rich tomato-y red....  (a bright red with orange undertones)...

Which would you choose???

I'm leaning towards the red as it's more "classic" but the neon yellow is very appealing as well.  Thoughts?

Le Sigh - Manolo Blahnik Erratic Mary Janes

Sometimes there is a shoe so good, so perfect that you just can't help but be smitten by it... as I am with the Manolo Blahnik "Erratic" mary jane.

This is, to me, the perfect shoe for Fall.  The spindly, sexy heel (same as on the Blahnik BBs), the gorgeous peacock teal (one of my favorite colors), the mary jane style and the scalloping detail.

How many tights do I envision wearing these with?  How perfect would this be with black, brown, grey, hunter green?  How much do I want these?

Answer to all: A LOT!

Le Sigh!  I need to track them down.

Bits and Baubles and Birthdays

Next Friday is my birthday. And I'm going to be oldy-old-old.   Yep... 39, baby!

Not an official "big" birthday but supposedly a traumatic one, right?

NAAAHHHHHH!!!

Personally I don't think much about my age, but hey, I'm willing to leverage it for nice gifts, right?!?!

There are always a million things I want but if I had to pick what's top of mind right now, I'd say these lovely things:

First off, I MUST have these heeled bunny slippers from Streetzie, preferably pink and black.

Gah!  Cuteness!

Also, cupcakes.  I'm really really dying for a good (vegan) cupcake. Sure cupcakes may be ubiquitous to some, but there isn't a vegan bakery on every corner here in the South.   Please ship me some Babycakes love.

I'm totally into Spotify and really want to get an upgrade. Need to make that happen soon. I work in advertising, I don't want to hear ads all day.

A Cartier Love Bracelet in gold or rose gold... yeah, it's a few grand, no biggie right?

Or, you know, nail polish (or some Tinker Toys, heh heh)... I'm particularly smitten with this China Glaze Party Hearty glitter polish.

A little bit of Memento Mori (ala Wendy Brandes) might be appropriate

And of course, I'll always take SHOES (or Bergdorf gift cards, dontcha know)

But, all this list-making aside, I'm most excited because I will already get to spend a few days in a lovely hotel with a lovely spa massage scheduled. My Sweetie and I get to enjoy time in one of our favorite cites and I'm super excited!

Yeah for birthdays!!!

Shoe Search: Manolo Blahnik Abrocado Sandal

Missed connections. Ships passing in the night. Late arrivals.

I somehow missed seeing these adorable Manolo Blahnik sandals and now my size is nowhere to be found. Such a pretty pink satin paired with the softest dove grey velvet bow and milky iridescent rhinestones.

Pretty Abrocado, why aren't you mine???

Looking at Choo

I  haven't taken a first, much less a second, look at Jimmy Choo's heels in the past few year.  Choo's used to be my favorite but the last few seasons have seemed a bit, um, not sure how to describe it... maybe, Vegas-y?

Regardless, haven't been a fan.  But in this new crop I'm seeing a few styles, admittedly still a bit flashy, that I wouldn't mind wearing.

Sexy and not over the top sparkly - Ankle Wrap Shimmer Sandal - $1095

I love a classic pump that has a bit of interesting detail.  The glittery edging with cut-outs amps this up from boring black. Glitter Trim Pump - $595

The sandal part of this is pretty simple but that ankle cuff... holy moly!  This is not a subtle shoe but what you are investing in for it, you'll save by not having to get other jewelry. Crystal Cuff d'Orsay - $1995

The shoes I'm seeing are swinging back to the conservative side.  Are the folks at Choo a bit gun shy from all the craziness we've seen and they they gone through lately (mass-merchandising partnership, sale, etc.). Did they tone it down as they regroup are are they trying to get back to basics before going a new direction?

Time will tell.  In the meantime, I'm still not dying for any of them but they're much better than before.

What in the World?

I was clicking through my favorite store site, Bergdorfs, and came upon this Akris outfit. But it wasn't the unusal jacket/skirt/pants combo that stopped me.  It was the crazy shoes.

Don't these look terribly akward and uncomfortable with their forced downward slope?

I just can't fathom them.  Why?????

Shoe picks for Fashion Week at Bergdorf Goodman

I was very good and didn't buy any shoes while I was in New York... not that I would have had any room to pack them... but that doesn't mean I didn't get in my "shoe fix" while I was there.

I met up with the amazing girl behind Bergdorf's social media and we had a great time picking out the best shoes for Fashion Week.

Check out my picks on the stylish and gorgeous Bergdorf Goodman blog - 5th/58th

Then make sure to follow them on Twitter and "like" them on Facebook!!!

Le Sigh - Manolo Blahnik Sequined Pascalare Boot

I have a new Le Sigh shoe and it is called the Manolo Blahnik Sequined Pascalare Boot.  Aren't these dreamy?

I'm just going to let those magical sparkling black sequins speak for themselves while I sit over here coveting them.

Ensemble du Jour - Valentine's Day at Bergdorf's

I can't believe I'm still putting up pictures from New York which was, yes, last month. Slack!

This past Fashion Week happened to fall on Valentine's Day as well. Sadly, I was away from home but I did take the time out to partake in one of my favorite things... afternoon tea.

And just a quick education - Afternoon Tea is the tea where you have tiny sandwiches, scones and pastries while High Tea is served later and was/is more of the evening meal for the "common" folk. It is a common mistake but one that drives me crazy!

I knew that Bergdorf's had an Afternoon Tea service but had never been. When I found out they were doing a special service for Fashion Week, I had to go.

The view was lovely. I'll have to go back in Summer or Spring when all the trees are not so bare.

The service was lovely and the tea was very cute including sugar cookies in the shape of a shoe and pink pastries.

To tea I wore a dress from Anthropologie. It's black with an intricate black and yellow bodice and and a full yellow tulle underskirt.

I picked up a pair of bright yellow wrist-length gloves to match.

I paired the dress up with polka-dot stockings and my Aerosole silver buckle heels.

A girly outfit perfect for an indulgent girly afternoon at one of my favorite stores.
