Playful Polka-dots

I need more polka-dots in my life.  If I can track these down in my size, I seem them both in my immediate future.

Imagine

Imaging this in white with a darker wood heel.

Now imagine me wearing them... because that's what I'm doing.

Fendi Spring Summer 2010 "Cinderella"

UPDATED: I think my writing was poor up above. I'm also imagining that I'm wearing them. I don't own them.... yet! (okay, we'll see if I get them. I hope so!)

Featured Shoe: Christian Louboutin Very Prive Lace Peep-toe

Today's featured shoe is quite possibly one of the prettiest I own. Let me introduce the Christian Louboutin Very Prive Platform Peep-toe in nude crepe and black lace.

Such a pretty shape - here they are waiting for the Color Study - Neutrals photoshoot.

And from the back they are just sex-ay!

With the red sole they are simply wicked...

It's kind of hard to tell from the photos but they nude crepe fabric is an amazingly delicate pinkish nude that is almost shell-like.

I tend to think they have almost a boudoir feel to them.

I find Louboutins so funny. Almost every pair, even in the same shape, fits differently. These happen to fit but then they get a little loose in the heel in spite of being kind of narrow. Some fit great, some fit loose, some fit tight. Is there no consistency to the lasts they use?

Why such variance?

Not taking NO for an answer

I love shoes with glitter, but amazingly, I don't own many glittery shoes! Ever since "The One That Got Away", I've been a bit traumatized, especially about red glitter heels.

But then I opened an email from Neiman Marcus and saw these:

Louboutin platform peep-toes in deep glittery red. Oh My!

They are truly delicious and I am a sucker for a red heel but then... then I saw this:

Deep marine blue glitter. More unusual than red and I've already proven that I adore blue heels. So this... this may be more irresistible than the red.

There was just one problem. While I got the email on Monday about these being a part of the Fall Pre-order (not shipping until at least July!) there were NO MORE blues in my size.

Now these are full priced Louboutins. They sold out on these in 12 hours?

Well, yes they did... because they ONLY ORDERED A SINGLE PAIR in that size! Yes, for the entire US website shoppers (maybe even anywhere NeimanMarcus.com ships, worldwide?) they only had a single pair in 35.5.

Are ya kidding me? Isn't that totally ridiculous?

At this point I was a little incensed so I decided I needed to speak to the buyers about this. After calling around the corporate office I got a hold of the online buyer and she confirmed that, yes, this is typical. No wonder my size sells out so fast! And worse, this shoe was only for online... would not be in stores... so I was probably totally out of luck.

GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I have to have these darn shoes. It's the principle of the thing, right?

Anyway, I have this buyer trying to order me a pair. If she does good I will let you know. If not, I will be very very cranky and I'm sure you'll hear all about it.

Neiman Marcus... will you come through??? And, P.S. start stocking more in the "fringe" sizes. I'm sure there is more than one of us out there!

This is not a Joke

Not only has work been so ridiculously busy that I've had barely any time to write but then something horrible happens.

These don't fit very well....

Right now these babies are sitting in my bedroom mocking me.

I can wear this style perfectly in other designs, so what the hell?????

After my YSL Cage Boot disappointment, I'm not sure I can take it anymore. To heck with comfort!

Maybe I'll wake up and this will be an April Fool's Day joke.

Under the Skin

I know they are not the same style (although very reminiscent, don't you think?) and the quality has to be different in person, but don't you think these two shoes look earily similar???

I think it's that they both just look too shiny. I'm not a fan in either case.

Focus and Balance

One thing that may not be obvious about me is that I love geology. I actually took a geology class and a lab as an elective in college. I dig on scree (and funnily, one of my cats are named Talus but for another reason).

I had an amazing teacher in the 5th grade who fostered this love of rocks and minerals and I've been collecting mineral specimens and geodes ever since. One of my favorite minerals is Malachite. I have yet to find a piece I'm in love with and can afford but it is on my list. Besides bubble agate, I think malachite is one of the most graphic and beautiful of stones, especially in it's cut and polished form.

Imagine my instant smitten kitten love when I stumbled upon these gorgeous Missoni t-strap heels. Sadly (oh so sad!) they aren't available in my size, but if you wear a 37, 37.5 or 39, you are so in luck because they are on sale!

I would be scrounging up the cash for these babies if I could. If they come in your size and you get them, please don't tell me because I will be sooo jealous!

Le sigh!

Stars in the Galaxy

Have you ever had a love that left you breathless? Well, that's kind of how I feel about these shoes.

Good gracious! Look at them....

They are like Art Deco superhero shoes.

Not Fair

I was going to say: If life were fair, I would have these, but that sounds awfully selfish.

Instead, I'll say: I want these. Give them to me NOW!

This is why I love Resort shoes. Yes, that is the most delicate lilace suede.

Le Sigh!

And these, like a cascade of frangipani blossoms dancing around your feet. They have them in black too, but how could you resist the pink?

Mnsr. Louboutin, I applaud you.

Both at Bergdorf Goodman.

Imitation = Flattery?

Do you remember these Louboutin Bling Bling peep-toes from last Fall? They're gorgeous, right?

Well, apparently neither did the "designers" at JLo (shudder!). They think they can make a version to rival the Louboutin original.

Personally I find these tacky and clumsily done. They look as if they were made with cheap materials and have totally lost the soul of the original design. They may be one-tenth the price of the Louboutins but I don't think they are worth even their $120 price tag.

I was liking some of the new pieces in the Victoria's Secret winter look book, but when I saw these I just had to close the catalog and go lie down.

Week In Review Redux

As I've been looking through shome of my shoe shots and uploading things to Flickr, I see shoes that I haven't worn for while. I get sad... why have I been neglecting them???

So I've been trying to wear some old loves and give them the attention they deserve.

On Monday I wore a white v-neck and linen skirt with a skinny red belt from Target.

The center of attention were my Louboutin gold and cork Prive peep-toes.

Red!

It's amazing how high they are and yet how comfortable. That hidden platform really does it's job.

On Wednesday I had a client meeting so I wore something that I knew would look good and be comfortable - this black dress which I think I've worn about 5 times already. And to keep me from totally freezing, I wore my cropped olive cardigan. The dress is Target and the cardigan is Old Navy.

Oh, yeah... and these gorgeous vintage brocade heels.

Classic, classic retro shape. One of my favorite heels shapes of all time.

This is the good stuff.

And today, I just wanted to hav fun. I mean, I'm not going to be doing much but work work work, so why not?

Grey jersey top with metallic threads, khaki pencil skirt, sparkly silver knee-socks and vintage liquor tag necklace from Etsy.

My favorite part of this is the fact that the silver is a bit worn off. It gives the tag and extra dimension and shows it's age.

Sooooo cute!

But for fun, it was all about the socks and shoes. I always find Delman shoes to be a bit big but I just didn't care. These pink silk stripe-y oxfords were just too adorable.

Yes, I'm wearing them with super sparkly silver knee-socks. That's right. I'm mature.

Oh, yeah. And pink fluffy pom-pom sock garters from Sock Dreams. Pink! Fluffy! Pom-Poms!

I got these from Anthropologie. They called the Parrotfish Oxfords. They look like candy to me. I like. I need to get some baggy khaki pants, suspenders and a white shirt to get all 1920's Garden Party.

Or a cute white swiss dot sundress.... wait! I think I have one of those. I'm off to go search through the closets!

Eeeewwww!!!

Okay, why was even necessary to create this?

Am I totally high or is this not one of the most hideous things you ever seen?

Why is the "unique powdery fragrance" a big selling point?
And who is this Angie from Denver that not only has these in two colors but wants MORE????
I'm completely at a loss.
Yesh!
